Sometimes people encourage their teeth to shift by the habits they form with their mouths. With this in mind, try to avoid behaviors that may be causing your teeth to move without you even realizing it, such as:
- Pushing your tongue against the back of your teeth
- Improperly chewing
- Chewing on inedible items, such as the back of your pencil
- Clenching or grinding your teeth
